Matthew 9 2And behold, some people brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven." 3And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man is blaspheming."

BIBLE STUDY – KJV continued

23} Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Baptism illustrated in Rom. chapter six....

24} Romans 6:3-4 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Note: Baptism is a BURIAL in water for the remission of sins. Salvation is in Christ Jesus [on this almost all agree!] -- but HOW does one get into Christ where salvation is? [Note the following Scriptures carefully.]

25} Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

26} 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

27} Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, . . .

28} Colossians 1:18 he is the head of the body, the church

29} Ephesians 1:22-23 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Answer to Note

Baptized into Christ where salvation is—also baptized into the body of Christ, the church.

  Gal.3:27 Baptized into christ

1 Cor.12:13 Baptized into one body

Eph. 4:4 = There is one body

Col.1:18; Eph.1:22-23

30} John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

31} 1 Corinthians 1:10-13 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 11For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. 12Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. 13Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

32} 1 Corinthians 3:3-5 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 4For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? 5Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

33} Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

34} Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

What is the church called?

35} Romans 16:16 …churches of Christ….

What are members of the church called?

36} Acts 11:26 And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Where are Spiritual Blessings found?

37} Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

“Items” of Worship

38} Matthew 26:26-29 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. 27And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; 28For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. 29But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.

How often should we do this?

39} Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

“Items” of Worship - - Lord’s Supper

40} 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

“Items” of Worship -- Lord’s Supper + Giving

The Lord’ Supper and Giving are restricted to the first day of the week (every Sunday). The remaining “items” (in the following Scriptures) may be observed in any assembly.
