HUSBANDS / WIVES / MARRIAGE |
HUSBANDS / WIVES / MARRIAGE |
Colossians 3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and do not be embittered against them. |
I have a right to be happy. |
Ephesians 5:25-28 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church . . . husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself . . . |
I have a right to do as I please. My mate and children will just have to adjust. |
Proverbs 5:18-19 . . . rejoice in the wife of your youth. As a loving hind and a graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy you at all times; be exhilarated always with her love. |
An affair may spice up your marriage |
Colossians 3:18 Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. |
A marriage license is only a piece of paper. |
Ephesians 5:22-24 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church . . . as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. |
Living together enables one to decide if the other person will make a good mate. |
Hebrews 13:4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. |
Subjection to a husband is degrading to a woman. She should demand equal status with her husband. |
PARENTS / CHILDREN |
PARENTS / CHILDREN |
Colossians 3:21 Fathers, do not exasperate your children, that they may not lose heart. |
Mothers should pursue their careers wherein they may be fulfilled. Those who choose to stay at home with their children are victims of an outdated tradition fostered upon them by men. |
Ephesians 6:4 And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger; but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. |
Husband’s main family role is to bring children into the world. His role after that is insignificant. Artificial insemination can remove the need for a father-figure completely. |
Titus 2:4-5 . . . encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands. |
Nothing must be done to stifle a child’s free expression. To do so may bruise their ego. |
Colossians 3:20 Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord. |
Spanking children needs to be a crime. It’s nothing more than a parent forcing their demands on vulnerable children. Corporal punishment is a cause of delinquency |
Ephesians 6:1-2 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother . . . |
Proverbs 13:24 He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him diligently. |
DIVORCE |
DIVORCE |
Matthew 5:32 but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the cause of unchastity, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. |
Everyone is entitled to a happy marriage. If the current one is not, then change partners. If a marriage is not working out, bail out. If you made a bad choice in choosing a mate, the only remedy is to divorce. |
Matthew 19:9 And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery. |
“No fault” divorce is the cure-all. It removes all guilt and provides for an amiable separation. Try, try again until you find the right mate. Children suffer no long-term effects from a broken home. |
Malachi 2:15-16 . . . Take heed then, to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of your youth. “For I hate divorce,” says the lord, the God of Israel . . . |
Those who oppose divorce are trying to bind their morals on everyone else. |
